the simple things

I went with Laura and Rose to get tap shoes today with Rose's boyfriend, Caleb. On the way back to school, we stopped at a park to go on the swings. It made me feel so much better! My suspicions that I'm sick have been confirmed based on the state of my throat and the fact that my voice has been going in and out all day. I also feel miserable most of the time. So the feeling of almost-flying and goofing around with my friends was definitely welcome. There's just something about swings that makes me so happy!

right after jumping off the swing....

my hair was doing weird things today....
we decided that Rose looks like Kirsten Dunst in this picture. :]
We were probably the oldest people at the park this afternoon besides parents, but it was so much fun. We spend so much on campus in our little Whitworth Bubble that it's so great to spend just a little bit of time running errands or hanging out at a park on the swings. We went to a bakery this morning instead of hiking since we were all really tired and I'm sick right now. I miss pastries. It was so awesome to eat just a simple cheese danish! I'm a simple kind of girl I guess. Cheese danishes and swings and getting off campus make me happy.
Now if only I could just miraculously get better by Monday morning. I really can't be sick right now....

deep breathing

My whole academic life (which is basically my entire life now....) is encased within these four walls.

This weekend poses to be a fairly good weekend. I don't have classes tomorrow, for one thing. But it should also be relaxing and a good time to spend with some of the girls on my hall who aren't leaving for the extended weekend. We're gonna watch some movies tomorrow morning and just be girls and then we have a hiking trip planned for Saturday morning. I get to be outside and commune with Nature! I do have some reading to get done for some classes, but the stressful week can finally end with some major destressing! So it's all good.
I think I'm getting sick though. I don't have time to be sick!

doing work

I'm running on very little sleep and having been working basically all day on schoolwork.
The week's almost over. But there's still so much to do!
Good news is that I finished my Shakespeare paper that was taking forever and I'm done with the first major test of the semester. And I got new music tonight during a study break.
So it's a hectic life. But it's going fairly well.

Oh. P.S. It finally snowed today. It turned to slush really fast. But it's really only snowed twice now all season. The bottoms of my pants were soggy all day, but whatever. I spent the majority of the day inside my room.

free food is the best kind of food

One of the best parts of my day.

focus

Unfocused moments during my day of focusing on homework, classes, and future plans spent fiddling with my camera and focusing.
It's the unfocused areas that make the focused ones stand out even more.

lazy sunday

Just another lazy Sunday working on homework on the floor. With braids.

Spring Break plans are getting finalized! In about 25 days, I'll be driving home with a car full of friends with a taste for adventure and a craving for some Southern California fun and food!

pretend like it's the weekend

This week has been so busy and full of blah. I've been going to bed later and later every night and working my butt off to not fall behind in any of my classes. I really need to be on point at all times this semester. It's only been about 3 weeks and I'm so tired. I need to start napping again. Otherwise I might die before April rolls around. But! I got a new skirt in the mail earlier this week and I finally got to wear it yesterday. I really like it. I was excited that it arrived so quickly.

Today is also Sam's birthday! So last night around 1:00, we went to Shari's to celebrate since it's open 24 hours. It was a lot of fun, even though half of us were falling asleep during the day and it was so late.

Don't take Latin

It's been raining quite a bit these past few days. I really kinda like it 'cause it's usually in the 40s for most of the day. I miss the sun, but I like rain. Sad bit is that since I don't have a tripod (poor broke college student that I am....), I can't go out and take pictures while everyone's in class right now and it's raining. But I've been digging out the clothes I wore the first few weeks of school when it was still hot up here at the end of the summer. Hello California clothes!

Side Note! We had coloring time last night on my floor at like 1:00am. I had so much fun just goofing around and watching youtube videos with Hayley and Bobby while we drew pictures for Chelsea's care package. Her birthday's in a month, so I'm starting her present early!

Hayley pointed out that this colored pencil might be a bit racist.... if it wasn't in Spanish, that is....
Bobby wrote an amazing poem that made me laugh.
And then I realized that all of my markers did not have labels. So I labeled all 50 of them! Here's pink. There's also such colors as "sunshine", "lizard", "dirty blue", and "white person" because it was the exact same color as my skin and "peach" was already used for a different marker.
Have a great day!

and we'll have a big love-fest in the streets

It's the big day people. The day of love and cheesy mushiness. Not my favorite holiday. But I'm having fun with it this year. And I get to wear the red tights my mum sent me! I was so excited! Enjoy your day with your significant other! Or by yourself....

For me, I'm doing homework later. I already put valentines on people's doors last night around 3:30 (I wasn't tired at all last night and went to bed around 5:00....). So Hayley and I are going to go buy ice cream and maybe stationary/post cards at Boo Radley's downtown. And then we'll watch a corny Mary Kate and Ashley Olson movie later tonight. It should be a good day. But first, lunch!
