a moment to indulge my selfish teenager side...

I kinda wish I could trade in my vacation time with my family in two weeks for this week so I could counsel at camp again this year... mainly because I miss my counselor and staff friends from the past three years and would probably enjoy it much more than the girl who is going this year. But I can't because my mum would kill me for ditching family vacation time and being wishy-washy with work... I hate life after high school...

This is me last year at camp. (I didn't take a lot of pictures that year, and there certainly weren't very many of me since I was the one with the camera...)

Okay I'm done. No more whining. There's nothing I can do about it now.

life as an only child

Just some things from the past few weeks. The first three are from when we went to the Science Center and downtown for the afternoon. The fourth is from a Shakespeare in the Park event that I went to with my Mum and brother that quite a few friends were in. And the last is on the freeway on the way... somewhere. There was a blimp and the city was really clear that evening.

This week's been pretty good so far. I got paid, so obviously I have clothes coming in the mail... But I've also been an "only child" since Tuesday (my younger siblings are at church camp withe the youth group), so it's been really quite and relaxing. And I've gone and seen movies with my parents the past few nights. My new phone came the other day too! I am now the proud new owner of a shiny Blackberry Curve and I adore it! So much better than my last phone! I'm also getting a well-overdue hair cut tomorrow. I'm getting a trim and going back to full bangs. So ready for another hair change. I'm probably going to dye it back to brown before the month's up too. I want to go back to as close to my natural hair color as I possibly can before school. Although it might be a richer, darker brown than before. We'll see. It's still a few weeks off before I make the final decision.

music in the park

I spent Sunday evening with my family at a local park for our last official night with our exchange students. It was nice being out of the house and just hanging out and being goofy/lazy with my brother and sister. And I got to debut my new romper as well! Although I was probably a bit over-dressed for a low-key night of "soft rock" at a park...

I don't eat them, but some friends brought about eight different kinds of deviled eggs to snack on for our whole group. And they were labeled in such a cute way that they needed to be photographed.

Only after it started to really get dark and people started leaving could my brother bust out the soccer ball. Earlier in the evening I tossed grapes for him to catch in his mouth to keep us all entertained. This one's probably one of the most epic pictures from the night!

So here's some new things that I've acquired (or have worn more than once) in the past few weeks. I've had the hat for a while, but I haven't really worn it that much until recently (thrifted). I got the ruffled romper and the skirt at Urban Outfitters today after church. And both pairs of glasses this past week from my eye doctor (Ray-Bans and Calvin Klein; one just sunglasses, the other my new prescription glasses. In that order). And the lovely black flats are from Modcloth.com!

I think I'm going to wear the romper to a Music in the Park concert with my family tonight.

It's our last official night with our foreign exchange students too. It's going to be weird when they leave and the house is emptier...

I swear I've seen your face before

I feel like these glasses make my eyes look really small... Oh well, I'm looking at new ones later this week because my prescription changed so much. I have such bad eyesight! :(

Good news! My eye's getting better! Yay! Instead of red, it's now pink. And I didn't have to wear sunglasses today! Whoo!

This week is going to be so fun! I'm going to a disco with some friends tomorrow night and then to dinner and a movie with my best friend on Wednesday. And then on Thursday I'm going to Six Flags after work with my sister! I haven't had a week this full of fun things in a long time!

I might be getting/ordering a new pair of glasses this week too! Too bad there's something weird and painful going on with my eye again... I can't go outside without sunglasses on. Or fairly bright places... I hope it goes away soon! Like tomorrow!

The view from our lawn chairs during our late afternoon sunbathing at the water park today. It was a very good day. And I didn't get sunburned! I had so much fun! I don't know why I've only been there once when I was really little before today! We're probably going to go again this summer we had such a good time!
