water parks and eye doctors!

My hair's really red today... Awesome!

I'm super excited about tomorrow!

Check out my backside!:

I think I look like a Who with really round cheeks in this one:

Hey look! Yet another entire outfit made up of pieces from Forever 21! Kick butt!

I'm ridiculously excited, though! I'm going to Raging Waters tomorrow! And the optometrist! Is it weird that I like going to the eye doctor? I don't like it when they put drops in my eyes (every time...!), but I still really like it. And my optometrist has this kind of grandma-ish waiting room with lots of aquariums and ceramic figurine sets of like gnomes and woodland creatures. Such an interesting place to get my eyes checked every year... haha!

Does it look like I have make-up on in these pictures? I don't think it does, but I totally do! But I think I've been leaning more towards "less" make-up (I don't think I can say cleaner or fresher because it's just... less). It's kind of just foundation and mascara now with a little bit of eyeliner every once in a while. Oh well. I suppose I don't look bad or anything...

meh...

Ever have one of those days when your outfit looks really good in the morning when you put it together and then after a few hours, you actually really kind of hate it? That's how I felt today. Just over all, I'm not satisfied with what I'm wearing or how I look. Ugh!

Today was also one of the first days that I really wished I didn't have a job right now. There was almost nothing going on when I didn't have one and now a whole bunch of stuff if popping up during the day that I can't do. Like going to the beach this afternoon. People kept asking if I was going, but I had to say no every time. I'm really bummed. And so was everyone else when I said I had work. But! I get to go with everyone to the water park on Friday! And my best friend's coming too! So only one more day of work this week and then fun stuff on Friday!

so good, so good

No joke, the waves actually got even bigger!

These are kind of in reverse order... I'm going to pretend that I did it on purpose in an attempt to be unique and make it look like I'm, in a sense, rewinding this weekend...

As you can see, I had a pretty relaxing weekend with my family. Although those huge waves weren't very relaxing... But I had a good time and got quite a bit of reading done.

And I finally got to see Toy Story 3! It was such a good movie and a very nice continuation of the story. It was definitely not a cheesy sequel like most sequels tend to be. It did not let me down at all! And I totally cried. I'm not ashamed to admit it (although I cry during a lot of movies...). But they were more happy, sentimental tears because the end was just so perfect. It's definitely yet another Pixar masterpiece. I'm still wiggling in my seat and grinning in excitement when I think about it. Haha!

knew she'd have to come up soon for air

We went down to my grand parents' house at the beach this weekend for the Fourth and had a great time with the family. We played cards, ate lots of good food, and just enjoyed each other's company. Our exchange students had lots of fun too! And I finally met my newest cousin! I was beginning to think that he might not exist after never seeing him in person...

These pictures were taken by my little brother today when we took the ferry over to the beach. That's why my feet are kind of... missing. But he did a pretty good job of them, no? And I didn't even ask him to take them! He just kind of snatched my camera and started taking pictures of things! I think the first one might be my favorite.

The waves were huge! We weren't allowed to go in the water past our knees because they were so big and there were powerful rip tides that were too dangerous. We had to move back a few times even so that our towels and things didn't get drenched. It was kind of amazing to sit and watch the over six-feet-tall waves crash and break.

So now we're home and the week is about to finally begin. I came home to really excited dogs and a whole bunch of Facebook notifications. So Austin and I are watching Taking Woodstock and Mum's snoring on the couch. I almost don't want to go to work tomorrow; I just want this weekend to keep going forever and ever.

shake and wiggle to a hip hop song

I absolutely love this picture of my brother. The lighting is amazing!

Hey-o! Krispy Kremes!

These are some pictures from the past few days. Lots of sitting in a full car and hanging out. We went to a pool party for all the exchange students in our group/area last night and hung out around the fire getting to know everyone. And then we went shopping today. Everyone went, so we all piled in the car once more! And later tonight we're going to drive down to my grandparents' for the Fourth of July. Awesome.

it's all a gamble when it's just a game

I was wearing a skirt earlier today... But I wear skirts all the time, especially for work (which is about four days a week). So it's nice to just lounge around at home in shorts and loose, comfortable shirts. And it can get so stinkin' hot during the day! I actually took off this sweater after I got home because I just couldn't stand it.

I went to lunch today with my dad to his weekly Kiwanis meeting. I was supposed to go last Friday, but I ended up getting sick and couldn't hold much down until much later that day. So I went this week. It was interesting. They sang to me and all the other guests. And then we stopped by the bank on the way home to deposit my paycheck! Hooray money!

I'm wearing my sunglasses again because it's really sunny outside. But I also have a bit of an eye infection. Or something like that. It looks kinda bad, but it doesn't really hurt any more. It's definitely not very convenient though. I'm hoping it'll just go away by itself. I really don't want to go to the doctor...

So I featured this purse before, in like, October. I switched back to this beautiful thing in March because of my road trip home for Spring Break. It can seriously fit everything that I need. Everything! It definitely gets heavy when I put too much stuff in it, but it's just so handy! It can hold a sweater, multiple books, my camera, a journal (when I have one... I need a new one), and a multitude of random other things (Like a kazoo! Don't ask...). Did I mention that it's an amazing color too! Well, you can see that for yourselves... And I bought it about a year ago after years (well, maybe months and months...) of searching for the perfect purse!

You know those vuvuzelas that are "all the rage" because of the World Cup? Yeah, we have one (or two...). I don't even know why. But my brother busted this one out about a week ago and blows into it at least once every game that we watch. So this is from the beginning of the Uruguay-Ghana game earlier today. We have fun at my house. So much fun.

in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat

So... these were taken at two in the morning after everyone had gone to bed and I was about to go to bed myself. Hence the whole bathroom scenery. But this top is new! And it's not a work outfit. I get home from work in the evenings and generally throw on some shorts and a top to be comfortable and kind of distance myself from work. I really like my job, but the past week I haven't felt very motivated with what I wore to work.

This is also what I wore to pick up our first exchange student last night. I literally threw on the sweater, stepped into my shoes and ran out the door. We waited for the bus for maybe an hour before it got there, but I got to hang out with friends and goof off. And then a whole bunch of us went to In-n-Out for their first taste of California! We didn't get home until around 11:30. The rest of the exchange students are arriving at various times today (the Spanish students all came last night as the first wave). So our Russian boy gets in this afternoon while I'm at work, and then our Italian boy will be here late tonight. Exciting things are happening!
